Welcome!

So... your a new fifth grader and you just found out who your teacher is going to be next year. So far she is a name on a piece of paper, faceless - meaningless. You don't know this person, yet they are going to be a major influence on your life in a few short months, what can you do to get to know her before school starts? Attend summer school and hope she is teaching...good idea, but what if she isn't? Stake out the local pool and see if you overhear anyone calling out your teacher's name... could possibly lead to confusion if your teacher has a commonly used name. How about asking former students about her... good idea, though you might get biased opinions, so not very reliable. How about reading her blog posts all summer and get to know her that way? Fabulous idea!

Good for you for deciding to be proactive in meeting your new teacher, you automatically get an A. Just kidding! You can also check out the link to our class's website on the school's homepage.

If you are a future student of mine hoping to get to know me before August, WELCOME! I promise to faithfully post on here all summer to keep you up to date about what I am doing. Please leave me comments about yourself too, that way it is fair, I should be able to learn about you before the first day of school as well.

If you are a former student wanting to stay in contact with one of your most favorite teachers of all time, WELCOME! I'm glad you want to stay in touch and I would love to hear from you.

Enjoy your summer and I am super excited about meeting you in person August 15th!
